Christianity suffers from poor advertising!
Instead of us being exclamation marks for Jesus Christ, most of us are questions marks. We are rather poor salespersons who cannot attract, magnetize, invite, persuade, convince or even snap the attention of others to Jesus Christ. Instead of joy, we are singing funeral dirges. Because we fail to let the SON shine in our lives, we fail to radiate exuberance.
It was against this bleak scenario of self-doubt that the parishioners of St. Andrew Church, Bandra galvanized themselves into positive action through Mission SONshine. Taking a cue from the successful implementation of Mission Sunshine in the Parish school, the Parish Council felt that a similar project would inject booster doses of spiritual joy into parish life.
While Mission Sunshine works hard to instil the attitude of appreciation and encouragement in every stakeholder of the school, Mission SONshine is Christ –centred Appreciation and Encouragement which urges parishioners forward with new confidence to let the SON shine in all we do.
In the Gospels, one cannot miss the fact that Jesus was a ‘faith –hailer’ and not a ‘faith healer’. Appreciation and encouragement is bestowed with his famous words ‘your faith has healed you’.
Mission SONshine recognized that appreciation and encouragement were two important facets of Jesus’ life. Armed with this revolutionary knowledge, Mission SONshine launched the powerful F4s from its arsenal – Family, Foot-soldiers, Faith and Faithful – on 07 October 2012.
