Symposium on draft National Education Policy 2019
“The whole purpose of education is to turn mirrors into windows.” With this view in mind, the Government of India drafted its National Education Policy 2019 and the committee submitted its report on 31 May 2019. The draft proposed an education policy which seeks to address the challenges of access, equity, quality, affordability, and accountability faced by the current education system.
Responding to the call of the University Grants Commission (UGC) to conduct a series of discussions on the draft National Education Policy 2019, Academic Network of Dynamic and Inspired Educators (ANDIE), in association with Grand Academic Portal (GAP), organised a national symposium on Inclusivity in Educational Reforms on 27 July 2019. The purpose of this symposium was to raise awareness about the draft National Education Policy 2019; not just the highly positive aspects but also the negative aspects which could bring about the downfall of the country’s education system should certain elements be implemented.
As requested by the University Grants Commission (UGC), the outcome of the Symposium was disseminated through different media platforms. It was also forwarded to the Ministry of Human Resource Development as ANDIE’s contribution to the National Education Policy 2019.
