World Day for Consecrated Life is celebrated on 02 February each year. As St. Andrew Parish, Bandra is blessed with 13 religious congregations, the Women’s Cell of the Parish celebrates this day for the religious sisters. The sisters look forward to this grand event which has a different theme each year. This year, the theme was Vaccination because of the pandemic and the current vaccination drive taking place across the country.
The invitation informed the sisters that it was ‘Time for Wow-cination’ for the Wow-rogya Sisterhood. To register at the Wow-cination Centre, the sisters had to carry either their Immunity-dhar Card or their Wow-ter Card along with a clean-secrated mask and smiley-tizer. Along with the invitation, each congregation received a Wow-cinate Cold Box filled with a large syringe full of smileys, three vials of sanitizer labelled Fratelli Tutti, Patris Corde and Gaudete et Exsultate, and a smiley badge.
The congregations could register at any one of the three Wow-cination Centres – Apostolic Carmel High School Hall, Morello Hall at Holy Family Hospital or Prarthanalaya. The numbers were restricted to 35 at each centre on account of the pandemic.
Across the centres, more than 70 sisters registered for the event which began at 6.30 pm with the Eucharist celebrated by the clergy team of the parish i.e. Frs. Clarence Fonseca, Cajetan Menezes, Magi Murzello and Anthony Alphonso. This was followed by a game based on the lives on saints, and a grand dinner.
At the end of the evening, each sister received a WOW bag; a tote printed with ‘WOW’ (a smiley inside the O) and the tagline, The WOW Magic… Spread it! Inside the bag was an Indulge-inity Kit; a self-care Wow-ness Box filled with cold cream, foot cream, sanitizer, Dove soap, shampoo, and sachets of soup, Honitus and tea to pamper themselves whenever the need arose.
